Frontier Airlines (F9) is significantly ramping up its operations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), increasing its departures by 40% year-over-year. This growth is part of the airline’s ongoing effort to provide budget-conscious travelers with more options and greater access to exciting destinations.
Beginning in May 2025, Frontier will launch 9 new routes, including sought-after locations like Oranjestad, Aruba, and San Pedro Sula, Honduras. By the summer of 2025, Frontier will operate flights to 52 destinations from ATL, further establishing itself as one of the leading carriers at the airport, now ranked as the third largest airline in terms of departures.
In addition to expanding its network, Frontier Airlines will make a substantial economic contribution to the Atlanta region. The airline expects to employ more than 1,200 staff across various departments, including pilots, flight attendants, and ground services. The total annual wage impact is anticipated to exceed $111 million, benefiting the local community and supporting regional economic growth.
With ticket prices starting at just $29, Frontier’s expansion brings affordable travel to more passengers while improving connectivity and accessibility in one of the world’s busiest transportation hubs.

Frontier Airlines Strengthens Partnership with Atlanta Airport
Frontier Airlines is deepening its collaboration with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), aligning with the airport’s broader vision of boosting connectivity and fostering regional economic development.
Jan Lennon, interim general manager of ATL, highlighted the significance of this expansion, noting that it underscores Atlanta’s robust aviation market while offering passengers a wider range of travel choices.
As part of its growth strategy, Frontier has moved its operations to newly developed gates in the E Concourse, further demonstrating its long-term investment in the airport’s infrastructure and future.
With its affordable business model, Frontier Airlines continues to make travel more accessible for passengers based in Atlanta. The airline boasts fares that are, on average, 60% lower than competing airlines at ATL. To celebrate its expansion, Frontier is offering limited-time fares from as low as $29 on select routes.
Improving the Travel Experience
Frontier Airlines is introducing exciting new features under its ‘The New Frontier’ initiative, designed to enhance the travel experience. This includes more transparent pricing, expanded customer service options, and new seating upgrades like the UpFront Plus seat, offering extra space for comfort.
The airline is also rolling out first-class seating and making improvements to its FRONTIER Miles program, which will now offer Free Companion Travel and more redemption options for frequent flyers.
Looking Ahead
Through this expansion, Frontier Airlines is reinforcing its presence at ATL, introducing new routes, creating job opportunities, and offering budget-friendly fares to travelers. With continuous innovation in its services, passengers can expect even more affordable and improved travel experiences as 2025 progresses.
